Not every dive trip works with children in tow — so we ranked our own five full-day boat trips through a parent's eyes. At Side Diving · Atalay Hoba, try-dives are possible from around age 10, and the rhythm of the day is the same family-friendly one on every departure: a gentle morning dive at 5–8 metres for 15–25 minutes, a fresh lunch on board, then a second guided dive to 12–13 metres in the afternoon. All equipment, insurance, a full safety briefing and free two-way hotel transfer are always included, so there is nothing extra to organise.
For this family ranking we weighed three things: how much there is to see on a child's very first dive, how manageable the length of the day is, and how good the day feels for the family members who stay dry. Grandparents, younger siblings or anyone who prefers the deck can join the same boat as visitors at a reduced rate and share the day at sea and the lunch — nobody has to wait at the hotel. If scuba is completely new to you, our beginner diving page explains exactly how a first dive works.
Below are our three favourite family days, in order. Every trip can be reserved free online with payment on the day (cash or card) and free cancellation up to 24 hours before. Compare all five trips on our tours page, check current prices, or message us for current availability.
Kids remember the Underwater Museum for years: sunken sculptures on the seabed and the chance to hand-feed fish on their very first dive. With just 3–4 divers per instructor, children get genuinely close supervision in the water. Seven hours from Side with lunch on board for €45 — our clear family flagship.
At 6 hours this is the shortest of our dive days, which makes it the easiest fit for younger children's energy and attention spans. The family-friendly structure stays the same: a shallow 5–8 metre morning dive, fresh lunch on board, then a second guided dive to 12–13 metres. €43 from Kumköy with all equipment, insurance and free hotel transfer included.
Caves and rocky reefs in the Cleopatra Beach waters give this trip real adventure character for older kids, while the view of Alanya Castle from the boat keeps the non-diving family members happy too. It is a full 8-hour day at sea, ideal for families who want to make the most of the outing. €43 including both guided dives, lunch and two-way hotel transfer.
Try-dives are possible from around age 10, and no licence is needed. After a full safety briefing every child dives guided by an instructor, and the first dive is deliberately shallow and short: 5–8 metres for 15–25 minutes.
Yes. Non-divers join the same boat as visitors at a reduced rate, enjoy the day at sea and share the fresh lunch on board — the family stays together all day.
Reserve free online and pay on the day in cash or by card; cancellation is free up to 24 hours before. Diving is not possible when pregnant or with severe asthma, heart or respiratory conditions, and you should not fly within 24 hours after diving.
