Scuba Diving from Kemer

Kemer is where the Taurus Mountains walk straight into the Mediterranean. Pine forest runs down to pebble coves, yachts line the marina, and the skyline behind the beach clubs is pure rock and green. Along this stretch of Antalya's western coast the sea is strikingly clear and gets deep close to shore — exactly the kind of water divers hope to find on holiday, and the reason Kemer has long been one of the coast's favourite bases for a day at sea.

Your dive day starts with a morning pickup from your Kemer hotel; the boat departs right here, so there is no long coastal drive before you reach the water. On board, PADI-certified instructors run a full safety briefing and fit your equipment — tank, regulator, wetsuit, mask and fins are all included. The first guided dive stays at a gentle 5–8 metres for 15–25 minutes, an easy depth for finding your rhythm underwater. After a fresh lunch cooked on board, the second dive takes you down to about 13 metres — the beginner ceiling — to explore rock formations and keep an eye out for reef fish and the occasional octopus. In the afternoon the boat heads back to Kemer and the transfer returns you to your hotel. Certified divers dive the real profiles from the same boats: around 30 metres on standard certified dives, and down to 60 metres on the deep sites for suitably qualified divers.

Divers staying in Kemer pick this trip for a simple reason: it leaves from their own resort. The full eight-hour day — two guided dives, boat, lunch, all equipment plus passenger and diving insurance — costs €43. You reserve free online and pay on the day in cash or by card, with free cancellation up to 24 hours before. See the full programme on the Kemer scuba diving trip page, or compare every departure point on our prices page.

No licence is needed to join. Complete beginners do both dives with an instructor guiding them the whole way, try-dives are possible from around age 10, and friends or family who prefer to stay dry come along as boat guests at a reduced rate. If this would be your first breath underwater, start with our guide to discover scuba diving — and certified divers, bring your logbook: we sign and stamp it on board.
