Scuba Diving from Kestel

Kestel is Alanya at its quietest: a low-rise resort strip on the city's eastern shore, tucked between the Dim river valley and the sea, with the great castle rock rising in silhouette a few kilometres to the west. Guests don't come here for thumping beach clubs – they come for slow breakfasts with a sea view and unhurried evenings on the promenade. It also happens to be one of the most convenient places on this coast to wake up on a diving day.

The morning starts with pickup at your Kestel hotel – the free two-way transfer is included in the trip, and we confirm your exact time the evening before. The drive around the headland to the boat is one of the shortest on our route, so you step aboard relaxed rather than bus-weary. Cruising out beneath the castle cliffs, you'll make two guided dives in the waters off Cleopatra Beach: a gentle first dive at 5–8 metres for 15–25 minutes to find your breathing rhythm, then, after a fresh lunch cooked on board, a second dive down to about 13 metres — the beginner ceiling — among rocky reefs and caves. Near the old harbour lies an ancient amphora field where octopus, grouper and moray eels are often spotted, and Alanya's sea caves are woven into the story of the Mediterranean monk seal. Certified divers dive the real profiles from the same boats: around 30 metres on standard certified dives, and down to 60 metres on the deep sites for suitably qualified divers.
