Snorkeling Boat Trip in Side – Join the Dive Boat as a Snorkeler or Guest

Not everyone in a holiday group dives — and that is exactly why the snorkeling seat exists. On any of our five full-day dive boat trips you can come along as a snorkeler or boat visitor at a reduced rate: same route, same boat, same lunch — just without a tank on your back.

While the divers make their two guided dives with our instructors, the sun deck, the swim stops in clear bays and the coastline views are all yours. Free two-way hotel transfer, a fresh lunch cooked on board and passenger insurance are included.

Reserve your seat free online, pay on the day of the trip and cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before departure — perfect for couples and families where only part of the group wants to go under.

How a Snorkeling Seat Works

Every morning in season, our dive boats head out from Side, Kumköy, Kemer, Antalya and Alanya — and on every one of them there is room on deck for people who would rather stay near the surface. A snorkeling seat means you join the exact same trip as the divers, at a reduced rate, and simply skip the scuba part. Everything else is yours: the free two-way hotel transfer (morning pickup — the exact time is confirmed the evening before), a full day at sea, a fresh lunch cooked on board, passenger insurance and every swim stop along the way.

While the crew takes the divers down — a shallow morning dive of 5–8 metres and a second dive to 12–13 metres in the afternoon — the boat sits at anchor in calm, clear bays. That is your moment: slip in from the swim ladder, float above the rocks and watch the fish traffic below, or stay dry on the sun deck with a drink and a book. Nobody hurries you, and nobody expects you to do anything but enjoy the Mediterranean.

If you have your own mask and snorkel, bring them — they pack small and fit any suitcase. If not, simply tell us when you reserve and we will make sure a set is waiting for you on board. Booking works exactly like our dive trips: reserve your seat free online, pay on the day of the trip, and cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before departure. No deposit, no risk — which makes it easy to grab seats for the whole family and settle the details later.

Five Boats, Five Coastlines — Which Day Suits You?

Your snorkeling or visitor seat is valid on any of our five full-day boat trips, so it is worth picking the coastline that fits your group. The diver prices below are your reference point — the accompanying snorkeler or watcher always pays less, and we confirm your reduced rate when you reserve. You can compare all current rates on our prices page.

  • Side Underwater Museum — €45, about 7 hours. Our flagship trip to the famous sunken sculpture park, where around 110 statues rest at roughly 12 metres. The sculptures are laid out for divers, but the bay above is a lovely place to swim while your partner explores below and hand-feeds the fish.
  • Kumköy — €43, about 6 hours. The shortest day on the water, leaving straight from the Side–Kumköy strip — a relaxed choice for families with younger children.
  • Kemer — €43, about 8 hours. Kemer is known for the clearest water on this coast, which makes it our honest tip for snorkelers: reef fish, rock formations and, with a bit of luck, an octopus below you.
  • Antalya — €50, about 8 hours. A dramatic stretch of reefs, caves and fish shoals in the Gulf of Antalya.
  • Alanya — €43, about 8 hours. Rocky reefs and caves in the waters off Cleopatra Beach, framed by the castle rock — the most scenic backdrop of the five from the sun deck.

Whichever boat you choose, the format is the same: two guided dives for the divers, generous swim stops for everyone else, lunch on board and a slow cruise home in the afternoon sun.

Made for Mixed Couples, Families and Non-Divers

The snorkeling seat exists because real holiday groups are rarely all divers. One partner has dreamed of scuba for years, the other prefers the surface. Grandparents want the boat day, not the depth. Someone in the family simply cannot dive — during pregnancy, or with severe asthma, heart or respiratory conditions, diving is off the table for safety reasons — yet nobody wants to be left at the hotel. The visitor seat solves all of it: everyone shares the same boat, the same lunch and the same bays, and each person spends the day at the depth that suits them, even if that depth is zero.

Families work particularly well on board. Children can normally join try-dives from around age 10 with our instructors, and if your kids are younger, ask us — shallow bubble-style programmes for children from roughly age 8 can sometimes be arranged. Until then, the snorkel and the sun deck keep them happy, and the crew keeps a friendly eye on everyone in the water.

And here is what happens surprisingly often: a snorkeler spends the morning watching divers glide below, peppers the instructors with questions over lunch — and books a try-dive for later in the week. If that is you, the step is small: no licence is needed, beginners are welcome on every trip, and on the museum trip groups stay small at three to four divers per instructor. Browse all five trips on the tours page and mix seats however your group likes — divers and snorkelers reserve together in one booking.

Booking and Practical Information

Reserving a snorkeling or visitor seat is deliberately simple. Book free online — no prepayment, no card — and pay on the day of the trip. Plans change on holiday, so cancellation is free up to 24 hours before departure. Pickup from your hotel is in the morning; we confirm your exact time the evening before, once the day's route is set, and we bring you back after the trip at no extra cost.

Bring swimwear, a towel, sunscreen and a hat; everything else, including the fresh lunch prepared on board and passenger insurance, is part of the trip. One practical note that surprises many guests: the 24-hour no-fly rule after diving applies only to the divers in your group. As a snorkeler you can fly the same evening, which makes the visitor seat a good option for the last day of your holiday, when your diving partner already has to stay dry.

A few things go beyond the standard seat. If you would like a snorkeling-only outing for a larger group, are a certified diver interested in the deeper wreck and cave sites this coast is known for, or want to ask about CMAS courses and night diving, those days are arranged individually — send us a message via the contact page or WhatsApp and we will put something together with you. For everything else, the rule of thumb stands: five boats, every day, and a place on deck for everyone who loves the sea — whatever their depth.

FAQ

Can I join a dive boat without diving or snorkeling at all?+

Yes. Boat visitors are welcome at a reduced rate — many guests come along just for the sun deck, the swim stops and the lunch on board while their partner or kids dive. You are covered by the passenger insurance like everyone else on the trip.

How much does a snorkeling or visitor seat cost?+

Always less than the diver price shown for each trip (€43–€50). The exact reduced rate depends on the boat you choose and is confirmed when you reserve — reserving is free online and you pay on the day of the trip.

Can snorkelers see the sculptures of the Side Underwater Museum?+

Honestly: the sculpture park sits at around 12 metres and was designed to be visited by divers. Depending on the day and the water clarity you may make out shapes from the surface, but we do not promise it. Snorkelers on this trip enjoy the bay, the fish and the boat day — and the museum is a great reason to try a dive yourself.

Which trip is best for snorkeling?+

Kemer, in our honest opinion — it is known for the clearest water on this coast and the reefs start shallow. Kumköy is the shortest day (about 6 hours) and works well with younger children, while Alanya offers the most dramatic scenery from the deck.
