Your first breath underwater is a moment you remember forever — and choosing the right boat for it matters more than most people think. The good news: every one of our boat dive trips is built for beginners. Each day includes two guided dives — a gentle morning dive at just 5–8 metres for 15–25 minutes, then a slightly deeper 12–13 metre dive in the afternoon — plus all equipment, a fresh lunch on board, passenger and diving insurance, a full safety briefing and free two-way hotel transfer with a morning pickup from your hotel. No licence is needed, and try-dives are possible from around age 10.
So how did we rank them? Since the dive format is the same on every boat, we compared the things that actually shape a first-timer's day: how much personal attention you get from your instructor, how long the day is, and how relaxed the whole experience feels. The Underwater Museum trip takes first place thanks to its small groups of just 3–4 divers per instructor; Kumköy follows as our shortest day at six hours; Kemer earns third with PADI-certified instructors and lively reef scenery. You can read more about how a first dive works on our beginner diving and discover scuba diving pages.
Whichever trip you choose, booking is risk-free: reserve online for free, pay on the day in cash or by card, and cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before. Compare all five trips on our tours page or check current prices. One honest note before you book: diving isn't possible during pregnancy or with severe asthma, heart or respiratory conditions, and you shouldn't fly within 24 hours after diving.
Small groups of just 3–4 divers per instructor mean you get the most personal attention of any of our trips — exactly what a nervous first-timer needs. Your gentle 5–8 metre first dive takes you over the sunken sculptures of Side's Underwater Museum, and you can even hand-feed the fish. €45 for a 7-hour day from Side with equipment, lunch, insurance and hotel transfer all included.
At six hours this is our shortest day on the water — ideal if you want to try diving without giving up a whole day of your holiday. You still get the complete beginner format: a guided 5–8 metre first dive, a 12–13 metre second dive, fresh lunch on board and free hotel transfer. €43 from Kumköy, everything included.
An 8-hour day from Kemer with PADI-certified instructors and some of the liveliest underwater scenery in our programme: reef fish, octopus and dramatic rock formations. The same gentle 5–8 metre first dive applies here too, so complete beginners are very welcome. €43 with equipment, lunch, insurance and transfer included.
No. All three trips are designed for complete beginners: you get a full safety briefing, an instructor stays with you underwater, and your first dive is a gentle 5–8 metres for 15–25 minutes. Try-dives are possible from around age 10, and non-divers can join the boat trip at a reduced rate.
The morning dive goes to 5–8 metres and lasts 15–25 minutes — shallow enough to feel safe, deep enough to see plenty. If you feel comfortable, the afternoon dive goes to 12–13 metres. All equipment (tank, regulator, wetsuit, mask and fins) is included.
Diving isn't possible if you're pregnant or have severe asthma, a heart condition or respiratory problems, and you shouldn't fly within 24 hours after diving. Booking is flexible: reserve free online, pay on the day in cash or by card, and cancel free of charge up to 24 hours in advance.
