Every trip we run includes two guided dives, and that is deliberate. The first dive is the one where your brain is busy with equipment, breathing and the strangeness of it all. The second is the one you actually remember, because by then your body has stopped arguing and you can look around. A single dive would still be a nice morning, but it would sell you the setup without the payoff, and at 43 to 50 EUR for the whole day the second dive works out at roughly 21.50 to 25 EUR of the total. Nobody sensible leaves that on the boat.
What really happens on dive one
Dive one is a lot of first-time-ever moments stacked on top of each other: your first breath from a regulator, the first time your ears need equalising, the first time the surface is above you rather than around you. Most people spend that dive concentrating hard. Beginners stay between five and eight metres, with the instructor within arm's reach, and the pace is slow on purpose. You will see the site, you will probably see fish, and you will come up pleased with yourself. What you will not do is relax fully, because you are still learning where your hands go.

The confidence jump on dive two
Between dives there is a surface interval on the boat: lunch, sun, dry towels, and a conversation with the instructor about what went well and what to fix. By the time you get back in the water, three things have changed. You know what the descent feels like, so you stop fighting it. Your breathing has slowed, which means your air lasts longer. And you have already solved the small problems, the leaky mask, the fin strap, the ear that needed an extra second.
The result is that beginners go deeper on the second dive, to about thirteen metres maximum, and enjoy it far more despite the greater depth. Guests who came up from dive one saying it was intense come up from dive two asking when they can do it again. Certified divers feel the same shift in a different register: dive one is a checkout of trim and weighting, dive two is the dive they came for, around 30 metres on standard certified profiles and deeper on the serious sites when suitably qualified. The arithmetic, plainly
- Side Underwater Museum, 45 EUR, about seven hours, two dives, so roughly 22.50 EUR per dive.
- Kumkoy, 43 EUR, about six hours, two dives, so roughly 21.50 EUR per dive.
- Kemer and Alanya, 43 EUR, about eight hours, two dives, same arithmetic.
- Antalya, 50 EUR, about eight hours, two dives, so roughly 25 EUR per dive.

But what if I only want one dive?
You can always stay on the boat for the second dive, and nobody will push you. Some guests feel they have had enough, and that is a perfectly good outcome for a first day in the water. What we will not do is sell a cheaper one-dive day, because the boat still sails, the transfer still runs and lunch is still cooked, so a single-dive price would not be meaningfully lower and it would quietly deprive most people of the better half of their day. If someone in your group is not diving at all, they can join as a boat visitor at a reduced rate, which suits partners, parents and anyone who would rather snorkel or sunbathe. Practical points for a two-dive day
Eat breakfast, drink water and take it easy the night before. Bring a towel, swimwear, sun protection and something warm for the ride back, as listed in what to bring. Remember that you must not fly within 24 hours of diving, so plan your last dive day accordingly. If you have a medical condition, fill in the diving questionnaire honestly and get a doctor's sign-off where anything is flagged.
