Side Diving ° ATALAY TOUR · DIVE HOUSE

Why does the Antalya dive cost more than the others?

Short answer

The Antalya scuba diving day is €50 while Kumköy, Kemer and Alanya are €43 and the Side Underwater Museum day is €45. The extra pays for a longer eight-hour day on the city coast, further boat running and a different set of sites — reefs, caves, shoals and the DO-28 aircraft wreck at 19.5–23.3 m for certified divers. Per dive that is roughly €25 against €21.50, and every trip includes exactly the same two guided dives, equipment, transfer, lunch and insurance.

What the extra €7 actually pays for

The honest arithmetic first. Every one of our trips is two guided dives, so €50 works out at about €25 a dive and €43 at roughly €21.50. The decision in front of you is three and a half euros per dive, not a jump between price classes.

What that buys is a longer, further day rather than a better dive. The Antalya boat runs a full eight hours and works the city coastline, where the seabed breaks into reefs, cave mouths and rock walls that gather shoals of fish. It is also the stretch where the DO-28 lies — a Dornier aircraft that went down in 1967, resting between 19.5 and 23.3 metres, well inside the range certified divers dive on a normal day and firmly outside what a discovery diver does.

For most guests staying along the Side and Kumköy hotel belt, Antalya is also the longest road transfer of the five, and the boat covers more water once you are aboard. More fuel, more crew hours, more sea. If you want the five prices in one place before you choose, they are all listed on our prices page.

The format is identical on every boat

Nothing is stripped out of the cheaper days and nothing extra is bolted onto the expensive one. Whichever trip you pick, the price covers two guided dives, all equipment — tank, regulator, BCD, wetsuit, mask, fins and weights — free two-way hotel transfer, a fresh lunch cooked on board, passenger and diving insurance, and a full safety briefing. The line-by-line version is on what's included in the price.

That matters because a €7 gap between operators usually hides something: gear counted as rental at the pier, a one-way transfer, lunch billed separately, or a headline price for a single dive rather than two. Here the €50 and the €43 are the same kind of number — the whole bill, paid once.

The booking terms don't change either. You reserve free online with no prepayment, you pay on the day in cash or by card, and you can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before. Morning hotel pickup is included on every trip, with the exact time confirmed the evening before, so the cheaper boats are not the ones where you make your own way to the harbour.

When the extra is worth it — and when it isn't

Pay the €50 if the sites are what you came for. Certified divers who want varied topography and an aircraft wreck within normal certified depths get the most out of the Antalya day, and anyone who enjoys long boat days rather than quick ones will feel the eight hours are the point, not the cost.

Don't pay it out of a suspicion that cheaper means lesser. If you are trying diving for the first time and want the gentlest possible introduction, the six-hour Kumköy day at €43 is the shortest and closest to the hotel belt — genuinely the better choice, for less money. If clear water is your priority, Kemer is the clearest on this coast and also €43. And if the one thing you want to see is the sunken sculptures, the Underwater Museum day is €45 and no other trip substitutes for it.

Put plainly: the €50 buys a particular day, not a rank. Choose the coastline you actually want to dive and the price will look after itself.

FAQ

Is the €50 per person or per dive?+

Per person, for the whole day. It covers both guided dives, all your equipment, the two-way hotel transfer, lunch on board and insurance — there is no per-dive charge on top.

Do certified divers pay more than beginners?+

No. The price is the same for everyone on the boat. Beginners dive 5–8 m on the first dive and to about 13 m on the second with an instructor at arm's reach; certified divers dive their normal profiles, around 30 m, on the same trip for the same €50.

Does a non-diving friend have to pay the full €50?+

No. Companions can come along as boat visitors at a reduced rate, which includes the transfer, the boat day and lunch. Ask us when you reserve and we'll confirm the rate for your date.
