Changing your mind before the day
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure is the whole policy. One message to us is enough — no forms, no penalty, no card to un-charge, because reserving costs nothing in the first place.
In practice, most people who write to us do not actually want to cancel. They want to move. A hotel excursion has been booked over the top of it, someone has caught too much sun, the group has grown by two people. All of that is a change, not a cancellation: we can usually move you to another date, or to another one of the five trips altogether. If a long day suddenly looks like too much, the six-hour Kumköy trip is the shortest day we run and the easiest thing to swap into.
Partial changes are fine too. If four of you booked and two now want to come as boat visitors instead of divers, tell us the evening before and the day still works exactly as planned — same boat, same pickup, different roles. What we ask is only that you do tell us. An empty seat we knew about is a seat someone else could have had.
Changing your mind once you are on the boat
This happens more often than people imagine, and it is not embarrassing. You are welcome to stop at any point in the sequence, and nobody will push you.
- During the briefing. You listen, you decide it is not for you today, you sit it out. Done.
- Once you are kitted up. Sometimes the weight of the gear and the reality of the ladder is the moment it becomes real. Say so. We take the kit off.
- In the water. Beginners start the first dive at just 5 to 8 metres, with the instructor within arm's reach the whole time. If you signal to go up, you go up — immediately, calmly, and with the instructor beside you. There is no negotiation underwater.
- Between dives. Doing the first dive and skipping the second is entirely normal, and plenty of people do it.
If you end up not diving at all, you spend the day as a boat visitor at the reduced rate instead — the same thing your non-diving friends do on the snorkelling and visitor option. Tell the guide on board and it is settled there and then.
When the sea changes its mind for you
Some days the decision is not yours or ours. If wind or swell makes the departure unsafe, we do not sail — and that call is not up for discussion, however much anyone has looked forward to it.
You lose nothing when that happens. There is no payment sitting with us, so there is no refund process. We offer you another date, and often another departure point: this coast is long, and the sea is rarely rough everywhere at once, so a day that is off in one place may still run from another harbour. Kemer is known for the clearest water on this stretch and is a common alternative when you have the flexibility to travel a little further.
One planning point worth knowing early: you must not fly within 24 hours of diving. That rule is fixed, and it means the day before your flight home is the worst possible day to book, because if the weather cancels it there is nowhere left to move it to.
