Transparent Pricing
How much does diving in Side cost in September, and is it a good month? The price is the same as in any other month — €43 for the Kumköy day trip, €45 for the Underwater Museum trip and €50 for the Antalya boat, everything included — because we run no seasonal surcharge. September is simply the connoisseur's month: the sea still holds roughly 27–28 °C after a full summer of heating, while the boats grow quieter as the month goes on.
In practical terms, 27–28 °C is where a wetsuit stops being protection and becomes comfort. A shorty or a thin full suit is plenty for two dives; you come up warm instead of shivering, and the surface interval on deck feels pleasant rather than a race for a towel. The light is the other half of the appeal. The sun sits a little lower, so shafts fall across the sculptures at the Underwater Museum at a kinder angle for photographs, and the high-summer haze in the water has usually settled. Visibility along this coast is generally at its best in late spring and again in autumn, and September opens that second window — see our guide to visibility in Side.
The boats change character too. Once the European school holidays end, groups get smaller and the deck is calmer, which suits a nervous first-timer on a discovery dive at 5–8 metres with an instructor within arm's reach, and equally suits certified divers who want an unhurried run at deeper sites such as the Paris II wreck at 21–31 metres. Warm water makes long, relaxed dives easy rather than a fight against the cold.
Pack a little differently than in high summer: the water is warm, but the ride back can be breezy, so bring a light windproof layer and a dry towel for the deck. Midday sun is still strong — sunscreen and a cap still earn their place — and certified divers should bring a logbook and card for signing. Around 27–28 °C. After a whole summer of sunshine the water is at or near its annual peak, and it usually feels warmer than the early-morning air on the boat. A shorty or thin full wetsuit — included in the price — is comfortable for both dives, and most guests are warm enough to enjoy the surface interval on deck without wrapping up.
It is one of the best. The water is at its warmest, so nothing about the temperature distracts you, and the boats are calmer than in July and August, which means more attention per person. Beginners dive 5–8 metres on the morning dive and to about 13 metres maximum on the second, always with an instructor within arm's reach. No licence is needed and try-dives start from about age 10.
Exactly the same. Our day trips are €43 for Kumköy, Kemer and Alanya, €45 for the Side Underwater Museum and €50 for Antalya, with two guided dives, all equipment, free two-way hotel transfer, lunch on board and insurance included in every case. There is no high-season or shoulder-season pricing. Non-divers can join the boat as visitors at a reduced rate — contact us for the current figure.
Swimwear under your clothes, a towel, sunscreen and a cap for the still-strong midday sun, and a light windproof layer for the breezier ride home. Certified divers should bring a logbook and certification card. All diving equipment is provided. Remember the standard rule after any dive day: no flying within 24 hours.
